Inspired by the kindness, compassion, music, laughter, and hula dancing of Juanita Maria “Janie” Aleman, affectionately known as Kala Sunshine.
The Assignment exists to remind forgotten people that they are seen, valued, and loved through acts of kindness tailored to the person — whether flowers, stuffed animals, a visit, a conversation, or simply showing up.
Mission
Because no one should feel forgotten.
What began with discarded flowers has grown into something much larger.
The Assignment is not limited to flowers. Flowers are simply how the story began.
The real mission is reminding people that they matter.
Not everything that’s damaged is meant to be discarded.

New stuffed animals may help future outreach to children’s hospitals and children facing difficult seasons.

Help gather flowers, arrange bouquets, make deliveries, or visit someone who needs encouragement.
